After months of preparation and planning, friday morning 8am the buzz outside of venture gear was electric. After a quick trip to Tim Horton's and an unscheduled stop to the local printing store (for hoodies) we're off and running down the highway. Our breath taking drive through the mountains landed us in whistler shortly after 4pm, we unloaded and started chatting about what trails will be our first victims. Unfortunately that would have to wait until saturday morning.

First and foremost dinner at ricks had priority over riding that evening, and after our delicious 3 course meal i don't think anyone minded. The atmosphere in the restaurant that evening was unlike any other they experience in a regular week. Our 30+ person party had quite the electric energy to it, luckily there was a "kids" table hidden in the corner for some of us. I don't think the rest of our dining companions would have appreciated seeing us making monkey noises and hurling bread back and forth across the table haha.

The next morning we met for our 8am breakfast at blacks to fuel up and discuss the trip itinerary. After a quick but enjoyable breakfast we collected our 3 day passes and it was off to the races.

The riding conditions were ideal, beautiful sunny sky's and this early on in the season the trails were buff and some what dust free. Highlights for me would have to be Ninja Cougar, Karate Monkey and Crank it up for the fast flow. As for the tech, how do you beat Shlayer to Rock City, to lower Joy Ride?!

Our trip brought out quite the dichotomy of people, some of which had never met, but after a few days of riding it felt as though we had all known each other for years. I don't think there was a single person present that didn't have an unforgettable trip. As donald put it "As soon as i find out when this is happening next year, Im signing up right away"

Though it was sad to pack up monday afternoon and say goodbye to our new friends, i think we all knew it wouldn't be long until we'd be running into each other up at gilard and crawford chuckling about the wizard sticks and all the awesome riding we experienced.
On behalf of myself and everyone present, i would like to sincerely thank justin, rich and the rest of MTBco for all their hard work putting this trip together, and venture gear for sponsoring it.

Cheers till next time,

Stephen "mcbeaven" Walling
