Vapor Trail Day a great success and super fun!

Vapor Trail Day Report:

On Sunday, October 19th MTBco members and a Friends of The South Slopes (FOSS) director worked and had fun from 9:30am to 2:30pm to re-route the eroded chute mid way down the heavily ridden Vapor Trail in Myra-Bellevue Park (Crawford).

After Cathy Richards of FOSS gave a few quick lesson of single track trail building the group was off and running. The work went quick thanks to our amazing group of volunteers. Under the sunshine of a perfect fall day the group completed the re route and decommissioned the old chute.

MTBco’s cross country and all mountain directors, Mike Kittmer and Stu Evans would like to thank and acknowledge the hard work of the following MTBco members:

Lori Evans                               Lee MacKay                                     Stephanie Greenstein

Laurens Campbell                   Jonathan Matlock                             Darren Pugh

Jason Poitras                          Scott Lahrs

and… our partner in crime from FOSS, Cathy Richards for her leadership and great lessons. MTBco would also like to Thank Kirk Illingworth of BC Parks for granting us permission to perform this work.

To all of you, thanks again for the great day…can’t wait for more trail days in Myra-Bellevue and on all our other local xc/am trails.

To those intending to ride Vapor this fall, Please go easy on the new sections as the soil is still dry up there. It needs a good bit of rain and some time under snow to settle in.

Mike Kittmer

Director, MTBco
